I had to go to the doctor today as I had a sharp stabbing pain in my elbow every now and again when I leaned on it. I had assumed that it was a piece of glass or something similar that had got under the skin – well we all know what they say about assumptions! It turned out that I have ‘student elbow’ or Bursitis, luckily there is no unsightly swelling though.
So what has this got to do with Novartis? Well I was prescribed some steroid gel with a sci-fi name – Voltaren, which is manufactured by Novartis. This reminded me that Novartis, a leading pharmaceutical company, has successfully moved its integration platform to a cloud platform – referred to as iPaaS (Integration Platform as a Service). The platform they are using is called Dell Boomi and you can read more about it here. The figures are impressive. Although we need to take them with a pinch of salt, they are interesting nevertheless.
